Description
Eric Nally from the band Foxy Shazam. Also my first no-lineart digital portrait.
If you'd like to see the band in action, here's a music video:[link]
I have a lot to say about this piece, bear with me >_>
So basically this started as a 366 challenge sketch. The sketch will be up with the next sketch dump. My boyfriend liked the sketch so much that he begged me to colour it, so I started colouring the piece with the intention of actually leaving the lineart in, and as the piece evolved I decided to take it out and get off my lazy arse and paint the thing properly. Also I started this picture while my class worked on their projects, so it has taken 5 weeks with sessions ranging between 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on the time available. There is a very slight leather texture on the jacket to give the empty areas a bit more pizazz, but all the other areas of lighting and shading are hand-textured.
I've always wanted to draw Eric Nally, and in a way it's kind of a pity that the band isn't better known because I know that will probably effect the way this piece is received, but it was totally worth it.
You can see the reference picture here (you'll have to zoom in quite a bit):

I was originally going to draw him full body, but then decided to crop the image and turn it grayscale. I am thinking of doing a colour version, I won't lie >_<
GUYS! This is the first image in a long time that I am submitting without a watermark. Please report any misuse or non-permitted display to me!
I also have a Facebook page

Now I'm paranoid that I've left something out >_>
